Big Bears Room

Welcome to our Big Bears room which is for children from around 3 years to 5 years in their academic school year. The room is based on the first floor of the nursery with a separate meal and cosy area.

We understand the vital importance of School Readiness in all children. To help embed this we have registration time twice per day, line up at the ‘Big Bear’ door, a daily mood board, self-service at meal and snack times, independence throughout the bathroom routines, all alongside many other confidence building strategies.

At Abacus Nursery we encourage all our wonderful children to gain life skills and independence to ensure they are ready to take their next big steps as they grow.

We have all areas set out and adapted for all children’s interests and ages and stages of development, ensuring close links with parents and carers to support the transition from nursery to school.
